Energy Transfer Partners transfers energy in the form of natural gas, natural gas liquids (NGLs) and crude oil across the US. The company operates more than 43,000 miles of intrastate and interstate natural gas, natural gas liquids, refined products, and crude oil pipelines pipelines and related storage assets. Energy Transfer Partners also operates gas gathering pipelines, three gas processing plants and almost 30 gas treating facilities. In 2012, in a major expansion of its crude oil transportation, terminaling, and logistics operations, and its NGLs and refined products businesses, the company acquired Sunoco for $5.3 billion. In 2016 it agreed to be bought by Sunoco Logistics in a $19.9 billion deal.
